Next Steps in Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC)
Building on foundational BTC practices, this session will deepen educators’ understanding of how to sustain and refine a thinking classroom. Participants will examine strategies for facilitating productive struggle, fostering student autonomy, and ensuring equitable access to deep mathematical learning. Connections to HQIRs and the Standards for Mathematical Practice will be emphasized as educators explore how to adapt BTC strategies across different content areas and grade levels. Through reflection and collaboration, participants will leave with a plan for scaling BTC implementation in their classrooms and schools. Registration also includes a Wipebook Kit valued at over $50.
LEARNING TARGETS
Deepen understanding of how BTC strategies align with HQIRs and the SMPs to support equitable, student-centered learning.
Explore advanced BTC strategies for promoting student autonomy and productive struggle.
Develop an action plan for refining and expanding BTC practices within their instructional context.
