DBQ Project Team
Jul 25, 2025
Are you a Social Studies teacher who wants to advance your skills using The DBQ Project in your classroom?
This advanced workshop is specially designed for social studies teachers who have prior experience using DBQs in their classroom.
Led by DBQ Team members, this workshop will build upon teachers' own experiences in teaching the DBQ.
This workshop will provide a refresher on The DBQ Project 6-Step Method while exploring advanced strategies to improve claims, evidence, and reasoning in student writing. Educators will engage in norming and calibrating essays to make data-driven instructional choices.
With an additional focus on how to promote academic discourse with students, this session will also help educators refine their instructional approach to inquiry-based learning and strengthen student engagement through the DBQ process.
This session's overall goal is to provide the support and confidence educators need to refine their skills in implementing the DBQ Project 6-Step Method, ultimately empowering students to become more proficient writers and critical thinkers.
