HQIR Curriculum Coaching Academy
The HQIR Coaching Academy is a year-long professional learning experience focused on helping leaders and coaches differentiate professional learning, address real problems of practice in HQIR implementation, and create instructional coherence across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Using the instructional preparation cycle and lesson study as core structures, participants dig into timely ELA and Math topics while staying anchored in high-quality curriculum. The academy emphasizes not only the technical side of HQIR implementation, but also the human side of change, equipping participants to lead and coach educators through meaningful, sustained shifts in instructional practice.
How This Year is Different
Last year:
The focus was on building the foundation for strong instructional preparation. Participants learned the what and how of the instructional preparation cycle and practiced using common protocols.
-Unit internalization
-Lesson internalization
-Lesson rehearsal
-Reflection tied to HQIRs
This year:
The focus shifts from learning the cycle to using it strategically to differentiate adult learning and strengthen coherence across tiers.
